A Schneider Altivar 61 Plus (315 kW) VFD installed on a dairy production line experienced a startup failure, with no power-up or LCD display observed. Upon delivery to our workshop, Team Teknifix performed detailed cold testing and diagnostics to determine the root cause. Testing confirmed that the IGBTs and DC choke were in good condition, while further inspection revealed compromised components in the output power section.

The faulty components were carefully replaced with a genuine Schneider spare part, after which the drive was tested with a suitable electric motor. Team Teknifix successfully restored the drive to full working condition.

The project included:

• Cold diagnostic testing was performed to verify the electrical integrity of the drive.
• Continuity testing to verify insulation between phases and ground.
• Physical inspection to identify burnt components on the power board.
• Careful disconnection and tagging of all power board connections.
• Replacement of compromised components.
• Load testing and functional verification carried out using a suitable electric motor.

The drive restoration process has been completed, and final commissioning successfully carried out onsite under full load conditions.
