Our client, a major player in the cement manufacturing industry, experienced a critical failure on a Schneider Altivar 61 Variable Frequency Drive (VFD), reported as a blast within the unit. Given the importance of the drive in maintaining continuous plant operations, immediate technical intervention was required.

Team Teknifix was mobilized to the client’s plant for on-site assessment and repair. Upon inspection, the drive was opened and detailed physical checks revealed several damaged components due to the incident.

To restore functionality, the compromised components were carefully replaced with new units of the same specification. The drive was then reassembled, coupled, and subjected to operational testing, where it was confirmed to be functioning optimally in line with OEM standards.

The project included:
• Continuity testing to ensure no short circuit between phases and earth
• Thorough physical inspection of internal components and connections
• Identification and replacement of burnt/compromised components
• Reassembly, coupling, and functional testing of the drive

The work was completed promptly the same day, and the drive was successfully restored to full working condition, minimizing production downtime for the client.
