A complete overhaul of ABB ACS800 inverter modules and diode supply units was undertaken by Team Teknifix to restore a drilling operations at a major oilfield services company in Warri. The drives had been experiencing severe faults, leading to downtime and reduced operational efficiency.

After a detailed site assessment and fault diagnosis, full refurbishment was recommended for the units. Our engineers carried out stripping, cleaning, replacement of defective components, preventive maintenance, and extensive testing before reinstallation and commissioning.

The project included:

• Preliminary inspection and fault troubleshooting
• Complete stripping down of each cabinet drive to identify damaged and at-risk components
• Replacement of faulty modules, boards, and preventive maintenance kits with ABB OEM parts
• Preventive maintenance, thermal management servicing, and cleaning of internal systems
• Reassembly and staged simulation under both off-load and on-load test conditions
• Final testing and commissioning of drives back into client’s operational environment
• Site acceptance and technical sign-off by the client’s in-house engineering team

The work was successfully completed within schedule, and the ABB cabinet drives were fully restored to reliable operational performance, ensuring minimal downtime and sustained productivity for the client.
